Who Is This Guy?
Patrick Slaughter
When I got started, I couldn't find anybody to help me either! So I decided to rely on the skills I had learned in my previous non legal life. I used the marketing skills I had learned as a professional magician to attract new clients. I used the management skills I had learned as a Disaster Recovery Project Manager to keep my practice firing on all cylinders. Finally I used the skills I'd learned in law school to systematically figure out how to actually practice law.
My first year results surprised even me. I earned over $180,000 in revenue, of which I was able to keep over 75% for myself! My wife, Zena, was able to quit her job and come work for me full time. On top of all that, we took the entire month of December off to attend Face Paint University (her idea, not mine), take a cruise, and go to Disney!
My practice took off like a rocket. Over the next three years, we doubled our revenue every year until the practice was bringing in over $1M annually, with our personal income landing us in the top 1% of the entire country.
Potential clients were crawling out of the woodwork, even though we spent hardly any money on advertising. Finally, I figured out how to manage the firm while still taking off every Friday, refusing to take work home on the weekends, taking at least a one-week vacation each quarter, and taking off the entire month of December.
I'm not that special. I graduated from a no name law school in the middle of BFE Tennessee. If I can achieve these kinds of results so can you!
